What is Mangostin Powder?
Mangostin powder, also known as mangosteen ketone or mangosteen flavonoids, is a natural compound with multiple biological activities extracted from the shell, peel or bark of Garcinia mangostana L., a plant of the genus Garcinia in the family Garciniaceae. Its main components are α-mangostin, β-mangostin, γ-mangostin, etc., which belong to the xanthones class of compounds and are unique secondary metabolites in mangosteen fruit.
Studies have shown that it has anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Kintaihealth® extracts it from mangosteen shells through solvent extraction (such as ethanol and methanol), and then purifies it through column chromatography, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and other technologies to obtain high-purity mangostin.
