1. Antibacterial effect
Usnic acid powder can destroy the integrity of bacterial cell membranes and inhibit DNA, RNA and protein synthesis. Therefore, it has a significant inhibitory effect on Gram-positive bacteria (such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus) and some fungi (such as Candida albicans).
2. Antiviral effect
